|The Great Escape (1963) directed by John Sturgess|
|This is a private collection of original and vintage 8x10 photos that has been acquired over a 45 year period. Most of these photos are from the first release in 1963, a few are from the re-release a few years later and some others are of unknown origin, but still vintage. Intended for use at movie theaters and also sent to newspapers and magazines for publicity of the film, photos like this lot were meant to be destroyed or returned to the National Screen Service after use. Nothing has been reproduced or duplicated for this auction. All of the photos are in good to very good condition. Only 1 photo has pinholes in the corners and 7 have marks, writing or imprints on the back. Most do show general wear from use and handling which can include dings, bends or other flaws.|
